FOOD CAPSUPLE aims to establish, share and feed an arts-led space for sustainable food culture. It is dedicated to exploring a more sustainable, resilient and responsible food consumption society.
This platform highlights a shared cultural connection to food, from ritual to waste, and communicates a sustainable, resilient and responsible culture, addressing Western European food ritual and its privileges. The ritual recipes, comprising of photographic documentation of food waste and ritual recipes (instructions), food waste documentation and the selected literature and resources, aim to provoke and bring to the surface insight into Western European food consumer culture and our interrogation of what and how we consume.
As stated by Doug McMaster, “Waste is a HUMAN thing”, a counterintuitive to nature and ecology, where food comes from. This platform creates a map of resources, within the arts and beyond, to provoke an interrogation of our personal food consumption.
